Java Hangs With Linux Mint 6

Postby alligoodw » Fri Mar 06, 2009 11:56 am

Just installed Linux Mint 6 on my HP laptop and everything looks great. However, this one wall I've encountered. When I go to a web page that requires Java, the page hangs in Firefox. Any page will hang if Java is required. What do I need to do?

I suspect this issue has something to do with ICEDTEA plugin. Try to call Firefox from the Terminal then post here the outputs you get after it freezes.

One more thing, always remember to tell us exactly which version, edition and variant of Mint that you are having trouble with as well as the exact version number of the software. Example: Firefox 3.0.6 on Linux Mint 6 Main Edition 32-bit.
