Low Sound in Linux Mint 18 Mate 64-bit

Post by Benny07 » Mon Sep 26, 2016 11:29 am

Hello everybody!
I am new, please be patient. I installed Linux Mint on my wifes PC (Fujitsu Amilo La 1703, AMD, Turion 64, Home). There was no Sound. After maximizing (100) I had low sound in speech-check. I loaded down some packages, but that messed it up more.

The codecs are: VIA VT 1708 and Motorola Si 3054 (The VIA VT 1708 worked in the past in Windows XP perfect)

Terminal check of snd_pcm 106496 has the Subsnd: hda_si3054, hda_codec, hda_intel, hda_core (not hda_via, which is the main sound card). In alsamixer PCM the 00 cannot be established, the same with Capture (red).
Further snd: _seq_midi; _seq_midi_event; _rawmidi; _seq; _timer and snd with 19 Sub ?
I like to fix things, but now my game is over, the PC has No administrator rights, only custem (bug).
Any help?

Open a terminal, and use the following command. Check both the Master and PCM sliders. (use keyboard & arrow keys to navigate & change settings, directions in upper right of mixer) :-)

@RichyRich....thanks....forgot about alsamixer... :oops:

since pulseaudio-equalizer is not supported for Mint 18 yet, this worked for me.... :D

alsamixer showed that PCM & headphone sliders to be at max attenuation... :(

sound working now.....now if only pulseaudio-equalizer is supported..... :roll:
