good media server

Postby Rifter » Wed Mar 25, 2009 4:17 pm

whats a GOOD media server that works. I have tried both mediatomb and PMS(playstation media server) and they both suck, i can share the files and my PS3 will see them and play them but it is SUPER choppy and the audio is not sysnced and it is completly unwatchable. Is there a linux media server that works or will i have to set this up through vista(i dual boot)? I should add im running Wired 10/100 Switch so i should have the speed for this. Or do i need gigabit?

Check out XBMC. It is cross-platform so you can have your choice.
The instructions suggested Windows XP or better, so I installed Linux :)
