(SOLVED) - Headphone Sound Switches back to Speakers after a few seconds.

Linux Mint Cinnamon 18.1 Serena
Athlon II X3 425
ASROCK Motherboard
4 Gigs Ram
When playing anything with sound, mucic, videos, ect… I plug in the headphones, Switch the sound from Speakers to Headphones, viola’, Headphone Sound, but only for a little while. After a few seconds it Switches back to Speakers on its own.. I can’t get it to stay on Headphones…
any ideas why..?

It seems the problem fixed itself with the addition of a PCIe Video Card.
My AsRock motherboard has on-board Video and Audio. I assume both run on the Motherboard PCI Bus. They must have been conflicting. I had wanted a DVI video card for the system since the on-board video was only VGA. When my GForce 8400 came I put it in the machine. I went into the BIOS and switched Video from On-Board to PCIe and booted up, loaded the correct driver and the video was amazing.
Without really thinking about it, I plugged in the Headphones, the sound is better with headsets, and it stayed on Headsets. The problem of switching off Headsets to Speakers on its own was gone....... I will caulk it up to what must have been a PCI Bus Conflict
