[SOLVED] [Linux Mint MATE 18.1] Sound coming from headphones and speakers

Postby ooleyguy » Tue Jun 13, 2017 10:27 pm

Less than an hour ago, I couldn't get any sound from my headphones. Then I upgraded to kernel 4.4.0-79-generic and now sound comes from the speakers plugged into the back of the computer and from my headphones plugged into the front. I am running a dual-boot with Linux Mint 18.1 MATE and Windows 10. Windows 10 recognizes when I plug the headphones in and changes the output properly, This also worked properly earlier today when I had Ubuntu MATE and Arch Linux with the MATE desktop installed. What do I have configured wrong? Let me know what log files or configurations I need to post for diagnosis to occur.

Update: using kernel 4.4.0-80-generic now and same issue.

Reinstalled and it is working fine.
