[SOLVED] static popping noise in speakers

Post by mentyfresh »

I get an annoying static popping noise randomly in my speakers. It sounds like when you plug in an audio cord and the metal part first touches the port kind of. It happens on other versions of mint, ubuntu, but not windows. Anyone know how I can fix this?

I'm kind of new to linux but I ran

Code: Select all

lspci -v | grep -i audio
and it says

Code: Select all

00:0f.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation MCP55 High Definition Audio (rev a2)
Subsystem: eVga.com. Corp. MCP55 High Definition Audio

I seem to have finally fixed it. I've tried a bunch of different nvidia drivers, but they always give me trouble. I just tried the newest one for my video card listed on their site, and it seems to have fixed it.
