Sound not working Toshiba Satellite A500 PSAR9A-02J001[Not solved]

Post by dbannister »

Hello,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A500 PSAR9A-02J001 Laptop. I have just installed Linux Mint and am very happy with all, except sound.
Firstly, this is not (I think) a hardware fault, as I re-installed windows again to check and the laptop speakers worked fine.

When playing music, both speakers give out 'white noise'. When testing the sound through settings, the left speaker is fine, right speaker is still 'white noise'.
I connected a Blue-Tooth headset and they work fine.

Would love some advice on this.

Thanks in advance.

Tried all the above, but still no sound.

He meant you to post the output of those commands.
