I just updated Linux Mint 19 to the latest updates, and now my music files will no longer play. They stutter for about a second, then I get an error pa_stream_writable_size() failed: Connection terminated.
What would have caused this, and how do I fix it?

There are many possibilities for that error which I believe is essentially pulseaudio crashing.
For starters, try deleting the files in ~/.config/pulse/ then run

pulseaudio -k in the terminal. Wait a few seconds then test your audio.
