Hi,
I recently installed Mint 19 with Cinnamon. I noticed that often VLC has framedrops when I do certain actions. For example, if I watch something on Monitor 1, and maximize a window on monitor 2, VLC drops some frames. Or when I move the cursor to the time line in VLC and the time at that position pop ups, it drops a couple of frames. It seems to happen whenever something pop ups or changes. Sometimes, it is not a frame drop, but I see black frames. I run it on an i7 and a 1080Ti, so hardware performance should not be the issue. Also, I installed nvidia driver version 390.
Any Ideas?
Thx.

Open VLC.
Go to Tools/Preferences, at the bottom-left of window, under "Show Settings" select "All", in left window, select "Video".
In right-side window, uncheck "Drop late frames" & "Skip frames".
Save.
Close VLC.
Restart VLC.
