Odd sounds when connecting bluetooth headphones

Post by Joejoebeans »

Hi all. I've encountered a very strange problem when using bluetooth headphones. I have 2 sets of headphones, one set an Iselector BNC80, the other is a Philips SHB8750NC.

When I connect the Philips they usually work fine, but sometimes I get sounds like this from them (actual recording):

This is inconsistent and I haven't been able to tell what causes it. Usually turning them off and on a couple of times gets them to start working normally again

When I connect the Iselectors to the bluetooth, They only show as a headset and not a loudspeaker device. And I always get the same sounds from them

My PC is set up to dual boot with Windows, and I don't get this issue there even though it's all the same hardware. I'm running Mint 19.1 Cinnamon

Any suggestions as to what could be causing this would be greatly appreciated

Stumbled across the cause of this issue today. It seems the problem was being caused by some combination of mic and headset setup. I just changed my settings around on the input tab and the headphones seem to be working fine
