Mint 19.2 Mate x64 - Stereo channels reversed

Hi forum,

the front stereo channels in my brand new Linux Mint 19.2 "Tina" Mate 64 bit installation are reversed. The left speaker plays the right channel and vice versa.
Is that a known issue for Creative Labs Soundblaster Live! cards? I'm nearly sure that left and right were correct before upgrading from Mint 17.

To my surprise, in the below output of "inxi", PulseAudio isn't mentioned. That's no problem per se, I'm totally happy with plain ALSA (if it works) I just thought that everything derived from Ubuntu would use PulseAudio per default.
So I fell for something I found in https://www.linuxquestions.org/question ... ls-476400/ and edited /etc/pulse/daemon.conf so it does now contain

default-channel-map = front-right,front-left
instead of first left, then right. It didn't change anything, which makes sense if PulseAudio is not used. But it doesn't make sense that the file exists at all.
Why is the config file there? Or does inxi err on the sound server?

Another proposal from the same forum thread mentioned editing /etc/asound.conf, which would target ALSA, right? But that file doesn't exist on my system.
Should I create the file or do I need to install something that brings this file with it so I can edit it?
