Lost xvideo out of nowhere.

Postby rldev » Fri Aug 28, 2009 9:57 am

I was working on my computer last night, when I realized I was unable to play videos using xv. I tried in every media player, but xv suddenly doesn't work. I looked at xorg.conf and nothing has changed. This is a new install of Mint 7 Gloria 64bit. With the exception of smplayer, all video players have been running well under xv. 1080p no problem. I now get sound, but no video, unless I switch to X11. I have disabled emerald and compiz, but the results are the same.

Video Card ATI HD 3300
Driver: latest Catalyst FGLRX

Ok after further checking, the problem is Compiz with XV and the ATI drivers. I am aware of there being some problem for some with this setup, but I have been running this for a week with no problem. So why the sudden change?

I resolved this problem by uninstalling and reinstalling FGLRX drivers.
