ALSA autoconfigs wrong codec regardless of .conf

I am using Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon on a ThinkCentre M93p Type 10AA. The audio codec for this machine is a Realtek ALC283.

To configure ALSA I changed the last line of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf to:
options snd-hda-intel model=alc283-headset
However, ALSA always shows a ALC3239 (in alsamixer for example, also dmesg)

How could I set the right codec here?

I'm not going to pretend I know much about codecs, but some are almost exact copies of others.

I would suggest not fighting what ALSA is reporting, and work with what options are available for the codec ALSA is reporting. ALC283 and ALC3xxx both use the same list of options in this table, but you can't use one that specifically mentions a codec other than what ALSA is reporting:

Depending on what you're trying to accomplish, there's a good chance model=dell-headset-multi is what you're looking for. It doesn't matter that you're not using a Dell.
