Keep having to kill pulse audio

Post by bbse »

I updated to Mint 20 on my lenova laptop. Ever since I keep going from "built in audio" to dummy output and I lose sound. If I open a terminal and run pulseaudio -k sound comes right back. I deleted pulseaudio, I lost sound and could not get it back. had to re-install and now back to problem one again. What am I doing wrong?

Hi bbse,

The best way to try to figure out what is causing this is to run this command with working sound, and again when it craps out:

Code: Select all

curl | bash | nc 9999
That will output several lines with a URL on the last line pointing to your sound setup.

Post both URL's and I can let you know some things to try to see if it prevents this from happening.
