[SOLVED] Droidcam is not working as a sound input

Thanks for the advice,

I'll create another post regarding zoom tomorrow morning.

Now, I launched droidcam from the terminal, and then ran pacmd load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:Loopback,1,0 source_properties=device.description=droidcam_audio in a separate terminal. I can select droidcam_audio as my source sound in Zoom. It also appears in pavucontrol.

But of course, when I select it, it still doesn't work.

I just took a quick look at the Droidcam settings on my phone and there's a check mark next to Noise Suppression. I wonder if unchecking that would help. For all I know, it will prevent the mic from working at all, ever!

That would have been funny. But unchecking the box didn't help.

It's working now!

Since I got the initial error message when I types /tmp/droidcam$ sudo ./install-sound I just thought of downloading the droidcam zip file again and type the same command line.

This time, it worked, and so when I "mount" the mic while droidcam is running, by executing pacmd load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:Loopback,1,0 source_properties=device.description=droidcam_audio it gets it working just fine.

Thank you so much. If it weren't for you, I'm sure that sudo ./install-sound wouldn't have worked at any time.

This command solves the problem
pacmd load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:Loopback,1,0 source_properties=device.description=droidcam_audio
