No sound HDMI

Post by Reaper »

Good evening everyone. I'll start by saying I'm pretty new to the linux scene so I do apologise if I seem some what dense on the matter. i have googled the crap out of this and can't seem to figure this out. I recently built a new computer and installed mint cinnamon on it. Had issues with integrated graphics and I had to install kernel 5.1 to make work. I have tried installing pavucontrol and different HDMI cables. HDMI does not show up as a output source. All other audio outputs work fine. From what I read it could be an issue with the kernel version I am using. I don't know where to go from here so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have fixed it by installing a old video card for now however I would like the integrated graphics and sound to work as this was a mini build meant for portability and want to keep it light as possible.
