Sorry for the typo, I meant to say I have sound on headphones output jack but not the speaker output.
I see the speaker as the output device but no sound.

The best tool for sorting out audio connections is pavucontrol (Pulse Audio Volume Control). Install it from Software Manager.

Hello, Thanks for the reply. I try that and still no sound and played with the settings. Its seem to all look correct.
as it seem pretty straight forward but I am new with linux and could be mixing something.

Is there a control button on the laptop to switch between headphones and speakers? You show that the speaker is unavailable.

Hello, thanks for the replay but I even double check and no switch.

One thing I like to mention, is I did try other version of linux same issue. I also tried switching back to windows. That the only time it started working again.
I also did notice during the windows reinstall , that when I search the detail of the speaker output. It shows "3 speakers " as the name of the speaker output. Not sure if that help but thought the more details the better.

Also, regarding the speaker being unavailable. I realize during the time of running the command. I had my earphones
plugged in. once I unplug the earphones , speakers shows available but still no sound.
