capture youtube

guys,
I understand that this is a general question not only for mints, but for all linux in general, but I think it is still related to the multimedia/codecs topics.
I understand that youtube is flash .flv files. In windows there are several programs to capture video from youtube.com. How do we capture the video stream in Linux? Is there any utility/steps/tricks to do it?
Thanks,
Amin
