After upgrade to v20, no speaker sound - upgrade to 20.2 no improvement

Post by jimFrog »

After upgrading to Linux Mint 20 there is no audio and the upgrade to 20.2 did no correct problem.
I only see HDMI outputs and nothing for connected speakers nor internal speakers

The data you posted does not show an upgrade to LM20.2, but I presume the below advice would apply to any version of LM20.

In the Release Notes for Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon under the Sound and microphone issues it suggests:
If you're facing issues with your microphone or your sound output, please install "pavucontrol".

This will add "PulseAudio Volume Control" t o your menu. This application has more configuration options than the default volume control.
Maybe the additional configuration options will help.
