No sound linuxmint cinnamon 20.3

Hello

I recently downloaded linuxmint 20.3 cinammon on a chromebook all the functions work fine but the sound doesn't work,I thought this meant there was something wrong with my system but it turns out that a bluetooth headset I borrowed from my friend was able to connect and I could hear I have tried many tutorials and browsed this forum for solutions but none seem to be working.All im getting on output devices is Dummy Output.Please Help

What works for me is to open a terminal and :
sudo nemo /home/username/.config/pulse

then hit enter, then delete all files in the pulse folder; after that, run: pulseaudio -k and that works to restore sound.

Big However: however, I must do this every time I start a session. Permanent fix = ?

Thank you for replying unfortunately when I input that command into the terminal it says

Sorry to be unclear; here's what I had in mind :

sudo nemo /home/username/.config/pulse

then delete files in the pulse folder

then type the following in the terminal:


pulseaudio -k

and that should do it.
