My sound isn't working [UNSOLVED, CLOSED]

Post by AGtechGuy »

Hello, today I decided to get rid of Windows and install Linux Mint, I installed the latest version and I'm having some audio issues, I get something called "Dummy Output" when I go to the audio settings, and now I can't even open the settings app, all I have is the PulseAudio control thing. Can anyone help? Audio worked perfectly on Windows, it won't work with or without headphones.

Hello, can you please post your system information? This can be found in the system reports application, on the tab system information. You can copy it from there and paste it into your next post.
This information is needed for pretty much any question about your system, so it's a good habit to post it straight away.

How did that happen?

If your issue is solved, kindly indicate that by editing the first post in the topic, and adding [SOLVED] to the title. Thanks!

It's helpful, when you can, to provide links to the website you tried.

You indicated you would try installing again. Did you? Do you still need help?

The audio driver is showing in the inxi output as loaded. If you still need/want help, please provide the output of

Code: Select all

aplay -l
and

Code: Select all

journalctl -k | grep -Ei "ALSA|HDA|sof|HDMI|snd[_-]|sound|hda.codec|hda.intel"
