Hello All,
I just installed Mint on a separate NVMe. I have wired connected speakers that sound awesome on my windows install. BUT it sounds terrible on my Mint installation. It will not even have the maximum volume it does on windows. It only goes up less than half way. Can someone help me normalize this? (Its not the speakers-they are not blown etc)
Thank you!

Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- Make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- Copy/paste this command into the terminal:
(if you type: the letter F is a capital letter, and don't omit the space after inxi!)
Press Enter.

Re: Just installed Mint, Sound is disappointing need fix
Try this:
Update Manager - panel: View - Linux kernels
Install the latest kernel of the 5.15 series. Then reboot and test.
The volume issue can be adressed by installing pavucontrol. Then launch it and use its volume increaser.

Re: Just installed Mint, Sound is disappointing need fix
When I first installed it asked if I wanted to go with proprietary driver (NVIDIA 430.xx ) recommended -..... Thats what I chose. My GPU is an NVIDIA 3080 on this Ryzen machine. In case this helps any. I just can't believe how terrible the sound is. I know this can be fixed because MINT has always been the better choice overall and has always worked incredibly well.
Please someone help! Lots of anxiety here.

Re: Just installed Mint, Sound is disappointing need fix
Anyone? I have the same problem on Fedora. My computer otherwise works well on Windows as far as sound. No issues.
Re: Just installed Mint, Sound is disappointing need fix
In all the hours I have now spent on this issue the only slightly helpful thing I have come across is this -but it doesn't show you how to use it or adjust any such levels https://techie-show.com/sound-volume-is ... -try-this/
