SWF to HTML5 or Other Video

Post by zacklyke »

Hello folks -

For some reason I'm unable to get to SmokeScreen.us which I'd read had some open source resources in porting .SWF files to the HTML5 canvas. I'm looking for any recommendations on software that might convert .SWF (not .FLV) to video. I know how to use video in HTML5 so for now I'd be fine converting the .SWF to any other accepted video format and dropped into HTML5 so that it could be viewed on mobile devices. The last I'd heard about FFMPEG was that it could handle .FLV but not .SWF... though I'd be happy to be schooled otherwise.

Thanks for any help!

Well I think I'm going to be able to get the working .FLV from the agency which *should* work in FFMPEG (I'm a bit concerned since I know they used an add-on / toolkit for the animation). Everything should be good but for future reference I would love to know if something actually exists to convert the compressed .SWF files to any other video format.

Thanks!
