Video stream capture

Post by Briand18 » Thu Feb 09, 2012 12:42 pm

Is there a good piece of software which can capture what is streaming on the screen? I have loaded the Downloadhelper plug in on Firefox, and it works fine for Youtube and other specific sites, but it won't capture something I want to record (which is a corporate site training video)

Something that will load from Mint's Package Manager would be ideal :)

A bit complicated for little me. That's why I love Mint - installing software is usually easy using the Package Manager. If something needs installing manually in terminal, I do without!

I've only got 9, and since it's working so well for me I've put off installing 10 :(

I don't think I can - it's not a file, it's a stream embedded within a website. I have opened VLC and I can't see an option along the lines of 'capture streaming video from a website which you can input'. Can you help?
