Bluetooth poll, do you have bluetooth working Yes/No
I have seen bluetooth topics marked [SOLVED], and have seen many also not solved. I have definitely read many of the solved threads, but none have ever helped me. So just being curious I'd like to get a feel for how many actually have BT working in mint 18.
I have not created a poll before, but thinking for those who say yes, maybe add "briefly" Mint edition 18. ?, DE, and what if any thread helped you.For those who vote No, just follow along.

Working for me on Cinnamon 17.3 as well as KDE 18.2. No real help needed - - just paired the keyboard, and it worked?
Re: Bluetooth poll, do you have bluetooth working Yes/No
don't use that function, myself

Re: Bluetooth poll, do you have bluetooth working Yes/No
works for me on LM18 Sarah. Only issue I have is when the PC suspends and comes back up, it forgets bluetooth state.

Works for me on 18.3. I just plugged it in and VOILA!

Not working here on Xfce 18.2
This computer didn't come with bluetooth, so, that is at least part of the problem in my case!

Re: Bluetooth poll, do you have bluetooth working Yes/No
Thanks @pierre for adding that option. Frankly I am like you, I don't "need" blue tooth either, and if I did the 5 dollar dongle I mentioned in another thread would suffice. I am just curious how many mint users do have BT functionality.

Works with no issues.
I had an older dongle that didn't play nice when switching between Windows and Mint. But getting the right dongle solved all the issues.
Two other computers have built-in Bluetooth and both work with no issues.

Yes. My bluetooth is working perfectly again since 18.2.
Re: Bluetooth poll, do you have bluetooth working Yes/No
Works perfectly after removing Blueberry and installing Blueman

My bluetooth works most of the time but I don't use it that much. If you have done much internet searching about bluetooth in Linux you have likely read a few posts of mine, whether here as JeremyB or elsewhere as jeremy31

My Bluetooth works, thanks to JeremyB!

Re: Bluetooth poll, do you have bluetooth working Yes/No
my pc apparently does not support Bluetooth, "Searching for devices" is all I ever see.
don't know what I would do with Bluetooth on a laptop anyway, no real need for IMO.

* On my main desktop unit, running Mint 18 on an MSI Z170 Gaming M7 MB, and using a cheapo bluetooth dongle: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076F ... UTF8&psc=1 . Plugged it in and worked great as-is. Just don't believe the part about reaching along way, because it doesn't--but I don't need it to.
* On the Acer Laptop dual-booting Win10 & Mint 18: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LD ... UTF8&psc=1, bluetooth worked fine between the other systems, and for headphones.
* On the old 2010 13" MacBook Pro dual-booting El Capitan and Mint 18.3. Bluetooth works--strangely. Won't show up on other devices when searching, other than my work laptop. It sees other devices, but I can connect only to my work laptop (A Dell Extreme rugged w/Win8.1 Ent.) It won't connect to it, just for the sake of doing it, and hold the connection. However, I can transfer files back and forth between them just fine, but they won't maintain a connection for extended actions such as audio sharing, etc. (The bluetooth panel icon turns "blue" when file transmit/receive is occuring, then goes black again as soon as completed.) As an fyi, the bluetooth works about the same when booted to the Mac OS as well. Wifi is working fine, but maybe the bluetooth portion of the hardware is getting weak, or maybe the Mac hardware has a low-power mode it defaults to when not busy?
ps... forgot to mention, I use blueman on all of these and not the default bluetooth.

Re: Bluetooth poll, do you have bluetooth working Yes/No
After installing Mint 19 Mate
Had to install the proprietary Broadcom driver for WiFi which also provides Bluetooth.
WiFi then worked but Bluetooth did not .
Ended up doing the following to make Bluetooth work:
wget https://www.dropbox.com/s/olqnqevf698ld ... c_216d.hcd
sudo cp fw-0a5c_216d.hcd /lib/firmware/
sudo cp fw-0a5c_216d.hcd /lib/firmware/brcm/BCM43142A0-0a5c_216d.hcd
Bluetooth still didn't work and dmesg complained BCM.hcd was not found
renamed BCM43142A0-0a5c_216d.hcd to BCM.hcd
Rebooted and Bluetooth works.

Re: Bluetooth poll, do you have bluetooth working Yes/No
Yes. It had been working fine until I upgraded. I had to drop back to kernel 4.15.0-13 to get it working again. Anything higher and it says no adapter found. Currently using Cinnamon 19.
Re: Bluetooth poll, do you have bluetooth working Yes/No
Yes, it is working with my Logitech MX Anywhere mouse. I have to add in the driver, BCM20702A1-0a5c-21e6.hcd, from a Github source to get my adapter to work. Using LM19 Tara.
