[SOLVED] HDD ntfs to ext4

hi guys, i'm new on linux and need help

yesterday i make a linux install and i have one ssd(linux ext4) and one hdd(ntfs) and need to change the hdd to ext4 without losing information, is possible to do that? and how to do that i searched on google and here and don't found such information

i don't have a spare hdd to backup the files around 248GB

I don't believe it is possible to change the file system to a different format without data loss. Question now is, why bother? Linux system can utilize the NTFS partition just fine as is.

blender thing, on ntfs he crash when i load from ntfs
when i load from ext4 he work well, btw i solved, forgot to put on here

1. shrink NTFS disk to 1/2 size and create ext4 partition
2. move the data from ntfs to ext4
3. delete the ntfs partition and extend the ext4 to full disk size

it's a shore but works :lol:

That's some good thinking there! And a good way to back up data on the same HDD. So one still cannot change formats without moving the data away, we just don't need another hard drive, only another partition, to do the job.
