The Camera does not work - purple screen

Post by prologas »

Hello there,

Installed Linux Mint into Dell Latitude 7420 and the webcam does not work for some reason. Google Meet, Slack = Purple screen. Any idea why?

Code: Select all

cat /etc/issue
Linux Mint 20.2 Uma \n \l

It has detected the webcam.
Install cheese from the software manager and see if it is detected in that program.
You can also try guvcview to see if the cam works..
The unfortunate thing about webcams is some one work with linux and some don't, you need to try different programs to get them to work.
Try this link it is regarding your model laptop.
