Inateck USB 3.2 card freezes PC before boot
Replacing my current 4-port Inateck USB 3.0 extension card with an Inateck Redcomets U25 USB 3.2 card (the one with 3 USB Type-A and 2 USB Type C connectors) caused my PC running Linux Mint 20.3 to freeze after the BIOS boot menu. Completely blank screens with just a single white "dash" in the middle of my left hand screen (I am operating dual screens) - left it like that for 5 minutes to see if anything happened - nope. Reverting to the original card and everything works fine. I note that while the original 3.0 card had a power input plug on the card the USB 3.2 card doesn't so it must be being powered from the motherboard itself - which is a Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P. The Inateck website says that the latest board is compatible with Linux - although it doesn't state anything else - like which distributions.
