CD/DVD drive gone after LM update

Post by internet13 »

I updated LM a few days ago.
Now, CD/DVD drive is not recognized.

Ran "sudo lshw -c disk". see below. I can see all my internal SSDs (all working normally). But no CD/DVD (plugged into into internal SATA port since built this PC in late 2020 .
Drive working fine before update.

Please help!

Code: Select all

sudo lshw -c disk

I'm quite rusty with optical drive issues but I do know you need to post more system info, copy/paste the text output of inxi -Fxxxrz run in the terminal.

Does 'lsblk' show anything? ; my two DVD burners show up there as 'sr0' and 'sr1'. even Xfburn see's my burners even though I almost always use ImgBurn.

but it's normal for nothing to show up in the file manager until you insert a disc basically as my drives do not appear in the file manager until I put a disc in the drive.

I was able to solve the problem, and it was unrelated to LM. But something concomitant to the afoementioned LM upgrade.
Hint: I use an Asus mbd and recently added a third internal SSD. But I never touched the DVD sata plug.

Try to figure that out!
