Mouse "turns off" after few seconds of inactivity

Hi,

I recently installed Linux Mint (it's not the first time I use Linux, but I am a beginner, stil).
My problem is the following:
When I connect my mouse to a USB port, it works fine as long as I use it. If the mouse is not in use for more than a few seconds, it stops working (+ the sensor light is off). After disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable, it works again.
Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know what causes it or how to solve it?

Thanks!

A friend of mine just pointed me to laptop-mode. I blacklisted the mouse from autosuspend and now it works like a charm :).
