CD-R works DVD-R does not

Postby izombie_eat » Wed Feb 13, 2013 1:58 pm

I have two different machines with the same problem. Both of them can see CD-Rs just fine and I can burn CD-Rs in Brasero or K3b with no problem. If I try to use a DVD-R however, then it doesn't even think there is media inserted into the drive. The two machines have different motherboards, CPUs, MEM, drives, and DVD burners. Both DVD burners could see and burn DVDs using other operating systems such as Fedora and Windows. Below is the inxi output of one of the machines. I figure we should troubleshoot one and then I can research the other one myself. Thanks in advance.

What software/version did you use under Fedora?
