usb device driver not being read

im running linuxmint maya and all last year i never had no trouble up til now. my usb ports arent reading on my left side of my laptop.... i suspect its a driver issue,because the port on my right of my laptop is working..... and if i use windows 7 everything is fine with my usb ports. i dont understand why my 2 usb ports on my left side of hp pavilion g6 is not working but the one is....... by the way the im runnning mate 64 bit too. i really would like to be able to use all my usb ports if thats possible. my laptop is 3yrs old.

im so sorry i jumped the gun a tad bit but after installing and applying all my updates i dont have a problem anymore.... im so happy i could burst......
