[SOLVED] how to enable touchpad on acer...

Hi folks!

on every start of mint have to digit [Fn]+F7 to ENABLE touchpad! :x it does not happen on ubuntu 9.10 livecd or win 7...

acer aspire E1,LM15 cinnamon...

That's odd that it is disabled by default. You may need a script for startup that enables the touchpad as part of the bootup process. Does the touchpad work at the login screen but not work once fully booted?

Not sure if it'll help, but I found

gconftool-2 --set --type boolean /desktop/gnome/peripherals/touchpad/touchpad_enabled true
at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SynapticsTouchpad, which should also apply to Mint. However, that post is not new so I'm still looking.

install touchpad indicator applets and manage your touchpad.
