Thinkpad TouchPad settings do not 'stick'.

Post by TPUSER »

Hope someone has an answer...
I have a T43 Thinkpad with the trackpoint mouse and the touchpad mouse. I disabled the touchpad mouse under the 'Pointing devices'......Synaptics' in the Control Center because I prefer the trackpoint after many years with Thinkpads.
The problem is that it actually DOES disable the touchpad, but if I log off and back on, or restart the machine, the setting does not stick.
Any ideas to make 'disable touchpad' stick?
I am using Mint 15 MATE.
Thank you.

OOPS!

Disabled touchpad in bios, but still I am cutious as to why the settings would not hold.

Cheers!
