Greetings!
I'm new here in the forum, but I use Linux Mint since version 9, and say it is the best linux there ...
I'm in trouble, I installed Mint 15 today and my wireless keyboard and mouse did not work and also my on-board network also did not work ...
I tried to install Mint 13, but also happened the same problem ...
So I installed a Mint 10 Gnome and almost everything worked, the mouse, keyboard and internet connection, but the sound does not work because I'm using an HDMI connection to my monitor.
I tried to upgrade Mint 10, but fails almost all packages, used the command apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
apt-get distro upgrade
But I had no success. How can I solve this? I want to have a "Mint 15 or 13" running normally.
In the Grub boot when it appears, the keyboard works, but when you enter the Mint 13 or 15, does not work.
Every Linux Mint I tried is 64 bits...
My PC is: 990FXA-UD3 Motherboard, FX-8350 AMD, Samsung 840 SSD, 8GB Corsair RAM, ATI Sapphire HD5440, Logitech MK320 Keyboard + Mouse, Drive Slim Liteon DVD-RW, Corsair 430W Source
What can I do to solve this?

Missing some details in your description; did the wireless keyboard & mouse work from the Linux Mint 13 or 15 installation DVD / USB? Or did it already not work there. Might be a clue for how to solve this if it did work from the installation DVD / USB, but not after installation.

In Mint 13 and 15 do not install via usb, as happens in initramfs ... error
So I have to install via the DVD, but when I install the mouse and keyboard do not work, and both are wireless (Logitech MK320 kit) is just the receiver in the USB port.
But if I install Mint 10 everything works perfectly, however the Mint 10 is old system and want to upgrade it to a new one. Just as I said that, in Mint 13 or 15, wireless keyboard and mouse do not work.
Only the boot Mint 13 and 15 at the Grub screen keyboard works, but when the system starts not working.

This may be out of left field, but a technical article http://logitech-en-ap.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/38032/section/troubleshoot/crid/403/lt_product_id/6232/tabs/1,3,2,5/cl/hk,en lists the possibility that a USB-3 peripheral may interfere with your wireless keyboard and mouse. It may simply be that Mint 10 is old enough not to support USB 3.0 devices as anything more than USB 2.x speed devices, enabling your wireless to work.
Gigabyte, your motherboard's manufacturer, suggests checking for the latest Linux driver for your networking chipset for your networking problem.

And Gigabyte has no Linux driver already searched too.
From what I understand, the more advanced is SO chances are of running all peripherals, and I think Mint 15 would be able to recognize it without running script's or make manual settings.

Realtek RTL8111E, the chipset for your networking connection, has a new Linux driver dated June 17, 2013, which unless you are running a nightly build, is newer than any included in the repositories, as unless it was a security update, it would not be included in software updates. No way, I will have to install a usb keyboard and mouse PS2 to make the system work completely and only then try to install the Logitech MK320 Wireless Kit. I am very disappointed with Linux Mint, because I have seen on the internet that my case is not unique and the solution that is always too complicated for novice users ...
I'll buy usb keyboard and PS2 mouse and then put the results here and how I fix it.

My disappointment was greater than I thought ...
I bought PS2 mouse and USB keyboard and only then that I noticed something.
Linux Mint 15 and 13 simply turn off the USB ports (all) when in this process boot.
I noticed this because the PS2 port mouse gets the access LED, but the keyboard lights no led. Also my Samsung HD Portable USB is not detected by the system after it starts. In the middle of the boot process I noticed him Voltage supply was turned off automatically.
So all USB ports are disabled when the system starts completely.
Has anyone ever seen this happen?

I use Linux Mint 14 MATE 32bit (and had Linux Mint 9 on same machine before) for a Media Player PC I have in my family room, hooked up to a big 50inch Plasma HDTV. I have wireless USB Mouse and Keyborad, so I can be on the couch and do stuff with the PC. Always worked fine, in both Mint 9 and Mint 14 MATE.

DID YOUR USB WIRELESS MOUSE AND KEYBOARD WORK FINE WHEN YOU BOOT FROM THE LIVE CD/DVD DISK? (BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE MINT 13/15 OS TO YOUR HARD DRIVE)
OR EVEN BETTER YET, DO YOUR USB2.0/3.0 PORTS WORK FINE WHEN BOOTING FROM A LIVE CD/DVD?
This might be an indicator of something you do wrong, or just goes wrong, during the install process.
Anyway, this problem is something I never heard of before. Hardware either works or doesn't. And mouse and keyboard are so basic that they should be in no way operating system dependent, they simply work. In Windows, Linux, Mac OSX, etc.
For more sophisticated hardware, sometimes you can do an after install manual driver installation, did this in Mint 9 for my sound and wireless network on a laptop.
I always test all my hardware in Live CD/DVD boot before I decide if I'm going to install the distro or not.
Try to get a detailed USB port listing.

So, you're saying that your mouse and keyboard do not work even in Live CD/DVD mode?
Can you post your hardware specs, please?
(CPU, Motherboard, RAM, SSD, HDD, DVD/CD drive, Mouse and Keyboard brand, model, etc)

The Logitech Support specialist clearly states that this model is not supported by Linux. Sorry.
On the other hand, other guys say it's supported....

I have a similar hardware setup that I am trying to get to work. I am using the same graphics card and a wireless trackball m570. I absolutely must have the trackball working due to my disability, and I will need all the buttons to function to my specifications.
Currently, I am running Win7 with synergy to use my trackball on Mint until I can sort out all of my hardware to work on both machines. I have yet to figure out how to install the proprietary drivers for the GPU so the Catylist Control Center can work. I think you need to install fglrx-amdcccle-updates for the GPU after the driver.

Guys this time I'm using Linux Mint 10 64-bit, because it was the only one who rode 90% of my componetes.
And I run Mint 15, but does not work keyboard, mouse, sound, network ...

Man I'm getting mad now with this whole story, I can not make a "more modern linux" work because? What has changed?

I solved the problem. I searched the internet on the 990FXA-UD3 motherboard and found some people with the same problem on an Ubuntu forum.
To solve this, simply enter the BIOS and set to ENABLE, the IOMMU option.
