I just got a used Hard drive disk utility says it has
Read error rate of 260792 and a seek error rate of 925 ....is this bad?

The disk is starting to fail. It's indicating problems seeking and reading. Normally you would want to replace it at this point before it fails completely.bossa wrote:Hi All

Is it a Seagate disk perhaps?
Seagate assigns their own numbers, which don't seem to mean anything, to a number of SMART items. You will see huge numbers even with a brand new disk. Could you perhaps tell the numbers before the SMART items where you are seeing these high error rates?
