SOLVED! logitech k360 wireless keyboard install/setup

Post by OddCodicologist »

Hello all,

I installed Linux Mint 13 (Maya) Cinammon 64bit on Saturday 7 Dec; so, I am as green as they come! I have a Logitech K360 wireless keyboard, that Mint is not recognising. It worked on the same laptop with its previous OS (Windows 8 ), and it works on my girlfriend's laptops which have Linux Mint 13 (Maya) Cinammon 32bit, and Windows Vista repsectively.

In case this is of use, the laptop is a HP Pavillion Ultrabook 14-B183eg, 64bit core i3, 1.9ghz, 4gb RAM.

If anybody has any suggestions, they'd be greatly appreciated.

All best and many thanks in advance
OddCodicologist (aka thom)

Is the keyboard USB or bluetooth?

can you do this

unplug the usb keyboard, wait 5 seconds, plug it back in. Then type:

Code: Select all

dmesg |tail
Post the output for me. Also can you post the output of

Code: Select all

lsusb
Please remember to use the Code button at the type of the reply page when posting your results

OK, so the first ( 'dmesg |tail' ) produces:

Code: Select all

and the second ( 'lsusb' ) produces:

Further update, the keyboard has just started working... (pretty sure that that code was to gather info, but it seems to have kickstarted the keyboard in the process)

Thankyou for all your time and help!

Just for awareness -
If you want to pair further devices (say, Mouse) in future using Logitech Unifying receiver, you may have to install Solaar.

BTW, I own a Logitech MK320 Wireless Combo (Unifying receiver) Keyborard + Mouse. :)
Cheers,
If there is a drive, there will be a path
