[HELP] Xrandr, LM13LTS and EeePC

Post by Zenxos »

xrandr trapping the mouse

I just downgraded my EPC 900 to LM 13 and found it a lot speedier than on LM 15 which I was using. Boot time is just incredible. I also wanted to switch to an LTS distro on this machine for long-term use.

Only problem was that I discovered the same as many others regarded xrandr. I had to add "panning" when switching distros to LM15. But downgrading is something I never did before.

Code: Select all

    xrandr --output LVDS1 --scale 1.0x1.28 --panning 1024x768
That no longer works as before. My mouse is trapped and useless at 1024x768. I lose the bottom 168pixels.

I would like a solution for LM 13 LTS on my Eee as I know that I am not the only one.
  • Kernel 3.2.0-23-generic #36-Ubuntu SMP
    xrandr program version 1.3.5
    Linux Mint 13 (Maya)
    EeePC 900HA

I think this is your issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/883319

It was supposed to be solved but if you are still having the issue then try to use the "fb" parameter along your command to set the new screen size.

Already did. Here is my line.

Code: Select all

xrandr --output LVDS1 --scale 1.0x1.28 --fb 1024x768 --panning 1024x768
I am hoping they can backport the newer xorg to LM13 LTS
