the most problematic parts are hybrid gpus, wifi cards and audio chips. you need to figure out which chipset they are using exactly by using their detailed specifications. these kind of generic info gives you nothing. your best bet is to check for the same model and make on the internet to see if any other person has installed linux on them, or just bring a livecd to the store and ask someone to boot the laptop with the livecd to see if everything is supported.

The Core i7 model is the newer model. It is fast but the Intel graphics aren't supported in the latest version of Ubuntu or Mint. In general it is supported by Linux. The issue with Intel graphics and Ubuntu 13.10 and Mint 16 haven't been fixed yet though. The Core i5 model is the last generation and looks like a power saving / battery saving model but it does have Nvidia graphics. Right now I'm using the pre-release version of Ubuntu 14.04 with the intel graphics and it seems to work alright, but it is on a desktop computer. The Intel driver is the same for laptops though.
