Sorry to tell you, but from the research I just did, I'm finding that there is no official Linux support for the Optimus card yet...
New PC (using): Lenovo G505s - 6GB RAM, 1TB HHD, AMD A10-5750M Crossfire Graphics.

My Rusty and Trusty Old PC(not in use): Compaq Presario C500 (widescreen) - 2.5GB RAM, 1TB Solid State Hybrid, 1.86 GHz Intel Celeron M 440.

Look into the Bumblebee project. That is currently the best way to make Optimus work.
nvidia-prime is an official driver, but it currently has a few shortcomings (based on what I've read; I've not tried it): Configuring more than one monitor is difficult, and both chips are on all the time, using a lot of power.

If you still want to install the driver you found...

First, the driver at the link appears to be a .bin file.

To install it, first open a Terminal window in the directory which it is located.
If you don't know how to do that, you can use this:

Code: Select all

cd /directory/of/file/

Replace the "directory of file" with the location of the driver, of course.

Then, use this command

Code: Select all

sudo chmod +x NVIDIA-Linux-x86-331.38.run
And lastly,

Code: Select all

./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-331.38.run

That should do it!
