Suspend network restart

Postby NiksaVel » Wed Sep 03, 2008 4:24 am

Hi all,

I've noticed that whenever I use suspend on my computers and return from suspend my networking stops working...

I wrote myself a small script consisting of

Code: Select all

gksudo /etc/init.d/networking restart

and start it manually whenever I return from suspend... and than networking starts working again...

how do I automate this?
Windows is extremely fast after a fresh install. If you want to make it stay that way: - don't use it.

Hi NiksaVel
Should be just sudo - gksudo is for a GUI app
If it was while booting I could give you a solution, but now....
If you google for return from suspend autostart you will find that it talks about engines and sound devices (?) and if you add linux - well.....

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

I'm running it from an icon so it needs a gui interface to ask me for root pass... at least I think my reasoning is correct
