[Q] Softblock unblocked after hibernate, TLP cause?

Post by inate71 »

I have the following lines in my /etc/rc.local file

Code: Select all

#!/bin/sh -e
#words

rfkill block nfc
rfkill block bluetooth
exit 0
It works upon a restart--but when I go to hibernate my laptop, then resume,

Code: Select all

rfkill list
reveals that they aren't soft-blocked any more.

Any ideas how to fix this?

If you dont plan on using bluetooth or nfc, you can blacklist the drivers.

Code: Select all

echo "blacklist nfc" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

Code: Select all

echo "blacklist bluetooth" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

I didn't mention it, but would tlp have something to do with my issue? I'll use that code and give that a go.

That did the trick. Thank you good sir!

For whatever reason, it works sporadically. I think TLP is messing with me blacklisting the drivers--how would I edit that?

I don't know how TLP could be doing that, is bluetooth or nfc showing up in lsmod?

Code: Select all

rfkill list
shows both are soft-blocked.

Code: Select all

lsmod
shows they are both used. :|

Strange, are they still in blacklist?

Code: Select all

cat /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf | tail

Yep.

Code: Select all

nxt3@Coder ~ $ cat /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf | tail

# EDAC driver for amd76x clashes with the agp driver preventing the aperture
# from being initialised (Ubuntu: #297750). Blacklist so that the driver
# continues to build and is installable for the few cases where its
# really needed.
blacklist amd76x_edac

# blacklist the NFC and bluetooth, custom tweak
blacklist nfc
blacklist bluetooth
