Scanner mit Mint

Postby Schizzie » Wed Oct 29, 2008 11:48 am

Hallo,

I am sorry, I thought I was in the German forum, but I understand english, if it is not too full of computer-special words, which I even would not understand in german

oh I forgot to translate what I wrote...
here is my problem:
Some days ago I installed Linux mint I do not have windows on my Laptop (dell inspiron 1720), because it did not work anymore and I could not reinstall.
I have now a scanner and printer all in one thing ( Canon MP 220) which seemingly is not supported by linux. I could make the printer work with a driver for an other canon printer, so I can print, but I cannot scan, Is there a possibility to make it work?

No Problem, I understand english, and if there is a word I don´t understand, I will ask a dictionary. I just hope to solve the problem with my scanner...

The link does not help me.... I seem not to know enough about linux to work with these instructions...
My first problem is with this 45-libsane.rules file, I don find it, and it seems essentially....
It is my first time I have linux so i am a bit helpless

This is a link to libsane
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14664165/45-libsane.rules
Make a file in home named 45-libsane.rules and paste the content in that link into the file
then

Code: Select all

 sudo cp 45-libsane.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/45-libsane.rules

Done
Then you have to add your scanner according to the topic in the link above
