Microsoft keyboard with touchpad

Post by tpprynn »

This is all working fine, except I would like to be able to alter tapping - to switch it off like most of us would a Synaptics touchpad on a laptop,or at least shut off it's other functions as it will often, as far as I'm concerned, mis-trigger. It's a bit sensitive. Can this be done? I see no facility in gsynaptics or Synaptiks. I think I had a keyboard before with a touchpad where nothing could be done about the tapping, and the tapping feature was visible in Linux Mint then, just take the tick out of a box. I was hoping with this being a MS product and a current model I could shut off the tapping.

Thanks.

If it uses the synaptics driver, you can use synclient.

Having typed this into the terminal it transpires not to be a Synaptics device: synclient MaxTapTime=0.

Any further ideas are welcome, thanks.
