How much HD space does Linux Mint take?

Postby pro-rsoft » Wed Apr 04, 2007 9:49 am

Hey,

Does anyone know how much HD space does Linux Mint take, when installed?
I want to know if it fits on my bootable 2 GB usbstick.

by the way. I tried featherlinux (remastered knoppix) on the usb disk, put a MBR on it, and that worked fine.
But will it also work for LinuxMint? Something like a Live-USB-stick?

I believe it fits on a 1 GB USB stick. There is a thread about this here:

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

I don't want the live version on a USB-stick, but LinuxMint installed on the stick and run as it would from any Hard Drive...

Is that also possible?

I tried it but no...
It needs at least 2238 mb space.
without swap it needs 2048 mb... just not enough...
