huawei 220

Postby alex9269b » Sun Dec 28, 2008 1:09 am

i am on dodo, a realy cheap and very nasty service
On mint 6 I can get (connected) but I cant browse, mozilla just sits there forever.
Huawei is the modem.
Ubunt is the biggest but its anal retentive lack of a root login swings me to mint with remastersys
I am also a big fan of pclinuxos
with either I can get a remasterable distro that grows with me

Well I think what you call "anal retentive lack of a root login" is one of the good things in Ubuntu and its derivatives
People are far to prone to be lazy and may spend their time in root, being not only a danger to themselves but to others too
There is a fine topic about using a cellphone (and a Huawei 220 at that) as modem in the forum
this talks of other phones as well. Not easy to find unless you know that scorp123 wrote about it and I do :)
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
