hp camera

Postby andrey » Sat Jan 17, 2009 10:37 am

Hi there !
First , thank you for making such sweet and elegant distro . I have just switched from ubuntu and previously PCLOS and i must admit i am really liking gnome and you guys have pushed it one more notch up . Last night install went fine , i just had to do little tweaking to get my brother printer working and all is well except my hp camera . When i plug it in i get this error :

Unable to mount Hewlett-Packard PhotoSmart 720 / PhotoSmart 935 storage
Error initializing camera: -1: Unspecified error

I did google it and it seems to be something to do with 8.10 kernel . Do you have any workarounds ? :?

It seems to have to do with PTP mode. This is a transfer mode for cameras, but you don't mention it...
I found this
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/297594
but not much more useful

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
