Hello,

Asus X302LA. Core i5, 4gb. I installed las t version of MINT.

When i wake up my laptop after suspend, my touchpad is disabled. I try this two options:

This from Ubuntu forums. Edit the 0000trackpad. Doesnt work.

cat /etc/pm/sleep.d/0000trackpad
#!/bin/sh
case "$1" in
suspend|hibernate)
modprobe -r psmouse ;;
resume|thaw)
modprobe psmouse ;;
esac

And this from this forums. Config GRUB file.

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash atkbd.reset i8042.nomux"

This option completely disable my touchpad.

¿ Any one know another solution ?

Thanks, regards.

After resuming from suspend open the Terminal by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T. Does typing these commands, used in your script, restore the touchpad:

Code: Select all

modprobe -r psmouse
modprobe psmouse
If that doesn't work, then try this command:

Code: Select all

synclient TouchpadOFF=0
If both don't work, then post the output of using these commands:

Code: Select all

1. inxi -Fx
2. xinput

have tried using a newer kernel via mintupdater > view menu > linux kernels and scroll all the way down to the latest 4.4 kernel?

I create a patch solving the same problem for some Asus models. Can you please apply the patch in your kernel and then check if this works?

The patch is here: https://lkml.org/lkml/2016/8/1/186

If it works, let me know, or better yet, make a comment on this kernel bug: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107971

Thanks!

Hi again,

Linus just picked a patch today that solves this problem for X302LA, so it'll be available in kernel 4.9.

Can you please check this patch[1], that is the same that Linus picked, and tell if this helps?

Thanks!
