sd card 64 GB cannot write

Post by francois43 »

Hi, I have an SANDISK 64 GB Ultra SDXC I card, bought it only weeks ago.
I use it on my desktop linux Mint, and on my laptop Windows 7.
I have copied music file on it and then put these on my laptop.

Suddenly Mint won 't copy-paste on the sd card aymore, it tells me "the destination is read-only" .....
but at the same time I can !!! save files on it from e.g. Libre-office Writer and Notepad.

Why can I write on files it but not copy-paste files on it in Mint, whereas on the laptop Windows I can copy-paste?

I have also a Samsung SD card 64 GBSDXC and it suddenly has the same problem.

Terminal ls -l gives both cards:
drwx------ 1 francois43 francois43 131072 Jan 1 1970 SD SWING (SANDISK)
drwx------ 1 francois43 francois43 131072 Jan 1 1970 9C33-6BBD (SAMSUNG)

Because of all this, I think is has to do with Linux/Mint (?)
When I cannot copy-paste files on it, the cards are not useful to me.

Any solutions?

Can you paste results of command:

Code: Select all

dmesg
And:

Code: Select all

sudo fdisk -l
Make sure cards is connected while doing so.
