Webcam gspca driver

Postby gsyman » Mon Apr 23, 2007 8:41 am

Can anyone tell me how to install gspca driver to get my webcam working? The hardware lists the camera as supported, using this driver.

So far I have had no luck, lsusb shows the camera is detected.

I have ditched Windows completely on my Dell 5100 and am enjoying the Mint experience!

Thanks guys!

I don't have an Acer, but what about the instructions given [here]?

Assorted USB webcam drivers are available [here].

Suss it step by step. And always be prepared to take a few tumbles. ;-)

Sometimes USB can get a pain in.....
I have a similar problem with a USB scanner, and I believe there is some hidden config file playing tricks :(
But, check out the drivers!!
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

there is some kind of webcam driver installation automated via automatix... (
Windows is extremely fast after a fresh install. If you want to make it stay that way: - don't use it.

Hi there,

See my HOW TO (directed to another website), that explains how I got my HP USB webcam working.

It might be of assistance.
